“In the beginning.”
Inspired by the first book of the bible, 'Genesis' is a nine-piece photography series that takes elements from the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
This series explores the moments of temptation, pain and sorrow that we endure in life. As we reflect on our own lives, the underlying message that Jay aimed to convey is that amongst all the hardships and trials we experience, there is beauty amongst the chaos we face in this perpetual cycle we call life - and that "beauty" is realising that hope is the only light you need in moments of darkness.

The Uncast
This series has an emphasis on the styling of each model, featuring pieces from high end and streetwear labels like KENZO, Off-White and Gucci. There is a juxtaposition between the softness of the garden setting with the edginess of each model's personal style and dark tones.
'Genesis' was exhibited at ‘Out Of Orbit #3’ an exhibition series by The Uncast and USFIN ATELIER. Through this event series, the goal is to connect the vast number of artists in Sydney by encouraging communication and collaboration between Sydney's creative communities.
